Day 7

The last day.

Mail came: "Find the Moderator. You have one hundred and twenty minutes. Fail, and face Erasure.

- The Reapers"

We weren't able to find him, though Bishop did. Apparently he was standing in a river or something, in the middle of October.

Day 6

This day has gotten weirder and weirder. We got the mail:

"Locate the forest bunker. You have three hundred minutes. Fail, and face Erasure.

- The Reapers"

The Moderator scooted around the rules by technically having the location be in the city limits, although you have to drive for a good twenty minutes to get there, which meant we walked for an hour and a half or so. Reckless kept checking behind him and seemed to be getting more and more nervous. He said that somebody was following us, but every time I turned to look, I didn't see anyone. We located the bunker no problem, it's an old storage shed that was emptied out several years ago, and local kids use it for paintball and airsofting.

It was all graffitied inside, but I noticed something odd: the Recusant's Sigil was spraypainted on one of the walls.

After we left, Reckless kept getting more and more nervous. He was shaking as we walked and looked like he was getting sick. He kept coughing as well, all the while checking behind him.

The last time I looked back, though, I saw somebody too...

Day 5

Well, I know why he wanted a pen, now.

"Locate the Recusant's Sigil. You have 120 minutes. Fail, and face Erasure.

P.S. You might want to look under the awning.

- The Reapers"

This led to a long scavenger hunt. We located the correct awning, which was on the same street as the Moderator was on yesterday. It led us to a school, where we found another note behind a recycle bin, which then led us to the park. Unfortunately, Scott and Damon beat us to it and took the picture first, which means we lost this Day.

Also, the Recusant's Sigil, for those of you unaware, is

*SPOILER ALERT*

the "X" used by Xehanort in Kingdom Hearts to mark various things. However, this Sigil was slightly different, though considering our inspiration. A binding circle had been drawn around it, but the prongs of the X still protruded from the circle. I didn't get a picture, sadly, though I should have.

Day 4

"Obtain an author's best friend and return it the Moderator. You can find him on <street removed>. You have fifteen minutes. Fail, and face Erasure.

- The Reapers"
This came right in the middle of lunch, so I was freaking out. We grabbed a pen, pencil and notebook and booked it to the street in question. We beat out Bishop by about ten seconds, thank goodness, so we won today.

It was a weird mission, though. Why would he want a pen and notebook, and why did he want them so quickly?

Day 3

Today was a little weird. I had the most terrible headache throughout most of the day, and I had bronchitis a few days ago. It started out normal, though, with the mission mail coming at about 3:00.

"Attention: a Reaper has been stationed near the retired movies. Erase him. You have 120 minutes. Fail, and face Erasure.

- The Reapers"

This one was fairly new, since, in my two years of playing the game, the mission has never been to Erase somebody, though it's a perfectly legal mission (Erasing other Players, however, is illegal). The retired movies obviously meant the discount theater.

We had to be careful, though. Reapers take 5 hits to take down, whereas players only take one, and Reapers get automatic paintball guns. This meant that we had to employ a bit of strategy. He was hanging out behind the theater before the main rush, so nobody really saw us ambush him. I shot from one side, while Reckless Pawn shot from the other, then we split in opposite directions and continued to harry him. He took him down before he could really hit us. We then asked him to send a message to the Moderator to confirm our victory.

And then he got mad. He was all red in the face and livid. Apparently the Moderator hadn't told him that he was the target for today. He started screaming and yelling at us. My head started hurting like hell and my asthma flared up, so I started to cough.

But that wasn't the only thing.

I saw somebody behind him, trying to sneak up on us, but he wasn't doing a very good job of it. Dressed in black, and he looked like he was wearing a mask of some sort. I pointed it out, but then a coughing fit came over me. I was vaguely aware that both turned to look. My coughing fit subsided, and since the Reaper had stopped shouting, my headache faded to a dull throb, thank God. It was weird, though. The Reaper didn't see the guy, but my Partner did.

The Reaper was still pissed at us, but let us go, since that was technically the mission. So, we won today. That's two missions for us, one for Bishop.

I also just found out that two Players (Ice and Falen) ambushed the wrong Reaper and got Erased.

Day 2

Scheisse. We lost this one.

"Reach the derivation of 336x^2. Send a photograph of the result.

- The Reapers"

I never thought it was actually an address, the only 672 in the city. Bishop beat us there. So far, it's tied.

I forgot, I will be keeping a list of players in each post.

Day One

There are a couple things I forgot to mention in the last post. The first is that if a mission is failed, everybody loses. If you're not close enough to reach the target in time, giving a hint to somebody who can is in your best interests, as you'll still earn points for the hint and the Game will continue.

The second is that each person must have a Partner. This way, there's always two people to look over any given mission from all angles, and to find insights that the other might miss. My Partner this game is Reckless Pawn. Also, if your pair wins the Game, then you're able to enter the next week immediately. If not, you have to wait a week to play again.

So, we got the Mission this morning:

"Locate the Woodland Guardian. You have 120 minutes. Fail, and face Erasure.

- The Reapers"

I didn't really know of any "Guardians" off the top of my head, so I got down to thinking. The area had to be in the city limits, which stopped the forests up the canyon from being candidates. It also meant that anything on the mountains was non-applicable. This left about three parks. We went to the first one, and, by a stroke of luck, happened on the answer.

The entrance to the park has a large wooden bear, carved onsite by a chainsaw artist several years ago. I took a photo

and sent it to the Moderator.

And I was right! That means the first day's mission has gone to yours truly. Take that, Bishop.

Let Us Begin

Good luck, Bishop. I'll win this Game.

For those of you who were referred here by James, let me give you the heads up on what's going on. We're going to be playing a version of the Reaper's Game. James, the moderator, will send out a mass text at a certain time each day, giving hints to a location we must reach or an action we must complete. The first person to reach the designated area, or to send a picture of the completed action, wins that Day.

The one with the most points wins.

Oh, and if you're caught by the Reapers, those who patrol the roads looking for Players, and are shot by their paintball gun, you're Erased. However, if you get them first, you Erase them. If you're Erased, you're removed from the game until the next Week.

The Game begins tomorrow.
